Our Purpose
Our purpose is to make Humberside safer. In response to public concern we are committed to:
- Highly visible street patrol.
- Reducing crime, disorder and road casualties.
How will we achieve our purpose?
Our purpose will be achieved by adopting a policing style that improves quality of life.
Quality of Life Policing will be achieved by: -
- Listening to and responding to our communities effectively.
- Prioritising what matters to local people, alongside government priorities.
- Adopting a partnership approach with our communities and organisations that can help.
- Working with our partners on a joint problem solving approach.
- Targeting police resources to solve problems on the basis of accurate information.
- Making sure that local officers have responsibility for tackling local problems and that they are known by local people.
- Ensuring that all of our policing services are provided in a fair way that does not discriminate against any group or individual.
- We will involve our staff in reviewing, planning and providing our services to ensure that local people get Best Value.
- We will strive continuously to improve the quality of the policing services we provide.
